Sadly, the title is a bit misleading; there is no cure for Senioritis. It’s been around since 1907, and students will continue to go on and pass this illness down for generations. But there are methods to lessen the effect of it. Here are five of the best farcical methods.
Waiting Until Last Minute
Many teachers say that you should not do your work at the last minute. The reason they give is that you’re actually not learning anything, and you’re just trying to get it done. But it’s better to do it last minute than not at all. If you wait on your work, you will also be more inclined to finish it. It will also help you learn how to write faster.
Staying Up All Night
If you have not studied or prepared for an upcoming test or quiz at all, this is the method for you. Because of Senioritis, it makes you not want to study and eventually fail your class. What you can do is stay up the night before the test/quiz and study. It’s a good idea, because you can cram all the info into your brain and then dump it all onto the paper. Best of all, when you are done with the test/quiz, you will forget all about it and not have to stress about remembering it for later.
Doing Your Current Work in Class
If you have classwork to do because you missed a day of school, the best time to do it is during class. The atmosphere of the class will course through your veins and help you in your work. You will also have the teacher there to help you if needed. The teacher might be starting a new lesson, but you can catch up and make up that work the next day.
Isolation
Many people have said over the years that complete isolation is bad for humans, but for humans with Senioritis, it’s a necessity. Being completely alone and sitting down with your work will allow you to lock in and get it done. This won’t last forever, as the Senioritis will kick in eventually and you will get distracted. But if you get into the flow, you will be able to get your work done.
Wing It
If all else fails, you can just embrace the Senioritis and try to do better next time. But we all know you won’t.
