March is objectively the worst month of the year.
It’s a weird month stuck in a limbo. It’s between winter and what would be spring if this wasn’t Mobile, where we exclusively have summer and a winter only considered cold to Southerners.
It’s just far enough in the school year for everyone to be utterly exhausted, but not close enough to the end of the year to be considered near the end of the year.
To make matters worse, there are little to no breaks within March. Due to that, it feels much longer than 30 days. No breaks lead to mass student burnout.
No one enjoys March.
There are no real holidays in March, and, no, St. Patrick’s Day doesn’t count, because it doesn’t get us out of school. It is just a drag of a month and monotonous to get through.
Literally every other month has something going on in it:
January has New Year’s.
February has Mardi Gras break and Valentine’s.
April has Easter/Easter break.
May has the end of school.
June and July have summer break plus Fourth of July.
August and September have back-to-school stuff.
November has Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Break.
December has Christmas and Christmas Break.
By now, you get the point that March is a nuisance in the calendar and is just a bad month overall.
