We need to discuss fashion trends. The idea of fashion is sort of out of sight out of mind while here at school due to our uniforms. The journalism class is here to bring awareness to the fact that fashion evolves over time, and now that we are in 2026, it is set to once more. For the purpose of this article, we are serving as your forecasters as to the up-and-coming trends for this year.
Upside down clothing: We all saw what happened at that one fashion show a couple of years ago with the stiff dresses in various directions, so it’s time we stop lying to ourselves: it’s coming back. I know that you’re probably thinking that it’s silly, dramatic, yip yap and the other. But listen; we’ve seen worse. Allow yourself to think back to the horrors of the once iconic Brandy Melville alien and butterfly T-shirts (yikes). Me personally, I enjoy my clothing where I can’t see the ground I’m walking on!

Ultra micro bangs: Hear me out: I want you to be proud of your massive forehead. The way to show it off? Chop the bangs. Yep; they gotta go. Bangs-maxxing? Not a chance. Bang minimizing is what the new it-girls are doing. I want you to say it with me: Chop them off.

Victorian White Wigs: Many people say that newer trends come from older trends. Well we are going back to the first colonizers that stepped foot into America with this one. These white wigs can make you different from everyone else, and you can show them that you are better than them. So, go to your closest Dollar Tree and purchase your wig today.

Alpha wolf T-shirt: What better way to show you are a tough, masculine male than this T-shirt, or others like it. This fashion trend will be popular among strong men, or up-and-coming Alphas.

Toe Split / Toe socks: Toe fashion is all the rage these days. The internet’s newfound obsession with feet has bled into our fashion with both toe socks and split-toe shoes for people to show off the figure of their feet.

Galaxy Print: It’s time for the 2019 galaxy print to make a comeback. We as a society are relapsing back to pre-covid trends to remind us of simpler times, and that includes some nostalgic galaxy print.
